First entering the
game during the summer of 1998, Robert Siwiak has held a variety of
player and staff positions within A Call to Duty. His first chat
character was posted aboard the 1st Fleet's I.K.S. QIb as Chief
Engineer, where he stayed for 11 months and rose to the rank of
Commander and ship's Second Officer.
1999 would bring
about a large influx of new cadets to ACTD, and a number of new ships
were launched during the second half of the year. Among them was the
Ambassador-class U.S.S. Andromeda, commanded by Captain
Siwiak and managed by former QIb CO Chris Williams. After
holding the center seat for seven months, Robert took the reigns for a
short while as the Andromeda's SM before taking a leave of
absence from the game due to real life conflicts.
Robert would return
in the Fall of 2000 aboard the U.S.S. Don Johnson before going
on to the U.S.S. Claymore and eventually the U.S.S. Seleya
shortly before the ship's destruction. One of his current
characters, Michelle Masters, continues to serve aboard the
newly-launched Seleya, ACTD's first and only Sovereign-class
starship.
In the Play by Email
Division, Robert initially played Ensign Michael Siwiak aboard the
U.S.S. Minotaur before being offered command of the U.S.S.
Pavonis in 2002. With the Pavonis entering her second full
year, he was also promoted to Fleet Manager of the division's new 10th
Fleet.
In addition to his
character and staff roles, Robert is also a charter member of ACTD's
Advanced Starship Design Bureau acting as webmaster and writer of
various starship technical specifications used in the game.
Outside ACTD, he is
a college student at the University of Texas in Austin studying for a
degree in Radio-Television-Film, with aspirations of screenwriting and
other fields in the media industry. He is an avid online gamer who
frequently enjoys first-person shooters and real-time strategy games
among other things. Being an Eagle Scout, Robert also enjoys camping
and swimming.
