Introduction:
The U.S.S. Pavonis is a starship operated by
Star Trek: A Call to Duty,
an online RPG community specializing in Play-By-Email, Chat, and
Newsgroup-based adventures in Star Trek's 24th Century universe. In
addition to creating and naming the ship, I was also her first Ship
Manager and Commanding Officer for nearly a year and a half before
turning the reigns over due to increased burdens with my academic and
professional pursuits.
Collaborating with my fellow shipmates,
I planned and wrote much of the initial year-long arc featuring an
ancient starship seeking the galaxy and transporting aboard infants from
various worlds who would have their growth accelerated to serve as the
ship's crew. The ship's legacy was to prevent an enemy from a long ago
war to thrive in our galaxy, and the Federation starship Pavonis was
tossed into the fray of this ongoing struggle when a new colony is
attacked and many of its infants kidnapped. The search covers many
months and light-years as various parties confront each other on an epic
scale.
The website that I created for this
ship is now archived here and preserved in the state that it existed
during my departure. The Pavonis continues to operate in the ranks of A
Call To Duty with a new Ship Manager and crew at the helm. We wish them
the best on their journeys. All characters are the property of their
respective creators.

Why was the Pavonis
website removed from ACTD?:
The Pavonis website was intended to be removed following my resignation
as Ship Manager, but was kept in place at the request of my
replacement Greg Lowis until such time that a new webmaster could be
found. Due to complexities with the manner in which the site was
formatted and designed, it proved difficult for a new webmaster to
simply take the reigns and also preserve the appropriate look of its
template. Following Greg's resignation from the Pavonis, we decided
to remove the site but make the information about the ship's history
and crew available to a new webmaster... and the data archived here
fulfils that goal.
The entire site,
authored solely by myself, would serve as a template for a new
website outside the scope of ACTD.
