Introduction:
First-time viewers, welcome to the archived records of the Advanced Starship Design Bureau Project. The mandate of Star Trek: A Call to Duty's Advanced Starship Design Bureau was to create the most accurate and comprehensive technical specifications for starships currently used in the online RPGs such as A Call to Duty, though many fans have used and modified our specs both with and without our permission in there own organizations.

The history of the project is well documented in the archived "History" section, available through the "Information" link from the left-hand side menu. We've enjoyed praise from countless individuals and fans, as well as Star Trek author David Schmidt who wrote Starfleet Dynamics & Starfleet Prototype, as well as the U.S.S. Enterprise-A Deck Plans. We certainly like to think the project has formed a little niche within the Star Trek community, and the remaining team members are still at work on the next version of technical specifications, boldly going where no one has gone before.

Has the project stopped?
Due to ongoing issues with game management in regards to a number of policy changes both related and unrelated to the ASDB Project, many of the core members of the ASDB Team have withdrawn from Star Trek: A Call to Duty in August of 2004, including Project Manager Steve Mallory. It is hardly my place to pass judgment on an organization that I have been working with and enjoying since 1998, but changes in management and a new trend of decisions have alienated myself and others to the point that the game does not offer the attributes that we have grown to love in later years, particularly in regards to the new family-friendly policies that have effectively stripped the organization of more mature story telling without consultation with any staff or players operating in those areas.

Though other factors influenced the decision to leave, the ASDB Team itself continues to operate outside the scope of ACTD free of affiliation with any RPG organization. ACTD may claim that the materials created by the ASDB are owned by said organization, though the truth is that ownership technically still remains in the hands of those who created the original documents as legal ownership was never in anyway signed to ACTD or released in any fashion. That said, almost every originally-written page on this website has the author's name, and nobody should claim any sort of ownership except those directly involved in writing it.

Because the fate of the ASDB's website at ACTD is still unknown and currently not under the operation of any of the team's members, this website has archived this project for historical and portfolio purposes. Please consider all email addresses, links, and contact information VOID in relation to this project, as these have not in anyway been modified so as to preserve the site perfectly on its final day of operation.

To reiterate, the original ASDB Team no longer has creative control over the http://techspecs.acalltoduty.com website, and any modifications (improvements, renaming, updates, etc) are not of our doing or supported.
